About Stark County Humane Society. The Humane Society is a non-profit organization serving the human and animal population of of Stark County for over 100 years. Besides providing a safe haven for the unwanted dogs and cats in our community, we find new and loving homes for them as well.

Our goal is to provide shelter, medical care, and adoption services to animals in need in Stark, Summit and Portage counties in Ohio. In 1998, our first full year, we found new homes for 130 cats and 91 dogs. In accordance with CDC recommendations and the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, in order to keep our staff, volunteers, and community safe, the St. Louis County Animal Adoption Center will be closed to the public starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
